HR Software Pricing in 2026: The Real Cost
Workzoom publishes its pricing: $4 per employee per month per suite, up to $16 for the full platform, with no initial setup fees and no long-term contract.1 Other vendors publish rates, or ask you to request a quote. Compare them using the table below, which records what each vendor's own pricing source says, dated.
HR software pricing is the question buyers ask first: what does this cost up front, and what does it cost over the years? Workzoom's answer is the same rate, year on year. You start month to month, move to annual for 5% off whenever you're ready, and stay monthly until you're happy.
Shortlist six HR platforms and you may fill out several request forms and receive quotes that share no common shape. One is per employee. One is a tiered annual licence. One bundles implementation. One does not, and that line arrives later. Comparing the software is one job; comparing the pricing is another.
Disclosure: Workzoom wrote this comparison and sells one of the products discussed. Vendors appear alphabetically, without scores. Every vendor fact comes from that vendor's own website, carries one source link, and was verified on October 7, 2026. We did not test the products. Read our comparison methodology.
- Vendors take different routes: some publish per-employee or per-plan prices, others ask you to request a quote. The table below lists each vendor's own source.
- The sticker price is not the total. SelectHub's pricing guide says setup and training typically carry a one-time cost of 10% to 50% of the annual subscription, and that vendors often charge for recurring API calls.2
- Workzoom publishes $4 per employee per month per suite, with implementation, data migration, training, and support included, billed month-to-month.
- The fastest way to compare vendors is to ask each for one written, all-in total for your headcount, year one through five.
Which pricing route fits your buying process?
- You need a number before any sales call: start with the vendors in the table that publish a price, then confirm what each plan includes.
- Your scope spans payroll, time and talent: request a written quote from every vendor for the same modules and headcount, and test the totals side by side.
- You want to leave without a penalty: ask every vendor for the contract term, notice period and any early termination charge in writing.
Which HR vendors publish a price, and which ask for a quote?
The table lists vendors alphabetically. It records what each vendor's own pricing source states, not what the product costs you. A price on a page is a starting point: your total depends on modules, headcount, implementation and contract length. Where a source shows no price, the cell says so.

| Vendor | What the vendor's own page states | Source |
|---|---|---|
| ADP Workforce Now | No dollar figure. The page offers "Get Pricing" forms and a sales phone number. | ADP product page |
| BambooHR | Lists Core at US$10, Pro at US$17 and Elite at US$25 per employee per month, plus flat monthly prices for companies of 25 or fewer employees. Notes that payroll and benefits administration are for US employees only. | BambooHR pricing page |
| Dayforce | No dollar figure. Its payroll page says: "Reach out to us to learn more about our pricing and licensing." | Dayforce payroll page |
| UKG Ready | No dollar figure. The plans page shows "Get pricing" on each plan. | UKG Ready plans page |
| Workday | No subscription price on the pages reviewed. The home page and payroll page point to "Contact Sales"; the site's "Pricing" navigation item links to a page about AI credit pricing, not core HR or payroll subscriptions. | Workday payroll page |
| Workzoom | $4 per employee per month per suite, up to $16 for four suites. Monthly minimums of $400 to $700 apply under 100 employees. Implementation, data migration, training and support are included. | Workzoom pricing page |
The Three Pricing Models, and What Each One Leaves Out
Almost every HR platform prices one of three ways. Knowing which model you are looking at tells you where to go looking for the cost that is not on the page.
| Pricing model | What is published | What to confirm in writing |
|---|---|---|
| Published per-employee | A rate per employee per month, sometimes per module | Minimums, required modules, setup and integration charges, contract term |
| Published plan tiers | A price per plan, sometimes with a flat price for small teams | What each plan includes, add-ons such as payroll and time tracking, implementation |
| Quote-based | No price; a form or a sales contact | The all-in total for your headcount: subscription, implementation, integrations, term |
The published per-employee model is the easiest to reason about: you read the rate, multiply by headcount and have a number before you speak to anyone. Published plan tiers work similarly, but check what each plan includes. A quote-based model puts the scoping in the conversation, so the written quote becomes the thing to compare.
A price you negotiate depends partly on the negotiation, so two companies can pay different numbers for the same software. A published rate takes that variable out. Workzoom's published rate is the rate.
The Setup Fee Is Where the Real Money Can Hide
The licence is the part you negotiate. Implementation is the part that can arrive later. SelectHub's HR software pricing guide, reviewed October 7, 2026, says setup and training typically carry a one-time cost of 10% to 50% of the annual subscription, and that vendors often charge for recurring API calls.2 That is a general market statement, not a statement about any vendor in the table above.
Connecting a new HR system to payroll, a benefits carrier and accounting may carry its own charges, and some vendors charge for each call between systems. Ask for each connection you need by name, and ask what the vendor charges to change or add one later.
What "Included" Should Mean
Workzoom prices at $4 per employee per month per suite. The HR suite is the foundation, and Workforce, Payroll, and Talent layer on at the same $4 each, up to $16 per employee per month for the full platform. A 100-person company running HR and Payroll pays $800 a month. There are monthly minimums between $400 and $700 depending on how many suites you run, so the smallest teams pay a floor rather than a per-seat rate that falls toward nothing.
You do not have to buy all four suites on day one. Most teams start with one or two, the ones they need first, and expand from there. The rate holds either way: you start month to month, move to annual for 5% off whenever you're ready, and stay monthly until you're happy.
What is not on a separate line: implementation, data migration, training, ongoing support with a named contact, and every product update. They are carried by the per-employee rate, not billed against it. The contract is month-to-month, with a 5% discount for annual billing.
Price the whole first year, not the monthly rate. Subscription, implementation, data migration, training and integrations belong in one written number, whichever vendor you ask.
How to Compare Apples to Apples
The monthly rate is only part of the budget, so compare totals. Run three numbers for each vendor, year one, year two, and the five-year total, then line them up side by side.
The three numbers each say something different. Year one carries any setup fee and integration charges. Year two is the run rate you live with. The five-year total shows how contract structure plays out, because a month-to-month rate and a discounted multi-year commitment with a large implementation fee can land far apart from what the monthly sticker suggests. Build each total the same way: the software fee for your real headcount, plus implementation, plus every integration charge, plus your own team's rollout time, the hours your staff spend on migration and training, which a quote rarely includes.

Who Workzoom's Pricing Does Not Fit
Workzoom is an all-in-one platform operated by Nortek Solutions Inc. since 2000. It has menus and a learning curve, and a team that wants four features and nothing else will see more product than it needs on day one. Workzoom is not the right fit if you want a single-purpose tool, if a monthly minimum of $400 to $700 outweighs the per-employee rate at your headcount, or if you need full payroll calculation outside Canada, the United States and the Bahamas, where it calculates to gross and exports data to your payroll provider.
For a 50 to 500 person company that wants the price on the page, the buying mistakes that matter most are covered in our guide to HR software buying mistakes.
Cable Bahamas' published case study reports that payroll processing dropped 70%, from 5 days to 1.5 days, run by a three-person payroll team across 850 employees.
